DAY 1 Rano Kau – Orongo

Welcome at Mataveri airport with traditional flower necklaces and transfer to an exceptional hotel. In the afternoon exploration of the island will begin with the encounter of spectacular Moais in every corner of  Hanga Roa village, continuing with a trekking from Vaitiare to the striking Rano Kau volcano crater, going through the also will visit the beautiful ceremonial village of Orongo, a compound of fifty basalt elliptical houses. In this place other investment of the powers of Tangata Manu, the bird man, took place every year after the celebration and contest for the title. Continuing the expedition, we will stop by the West side of the volcano into the cave of Ana Kai Tangata, whose  walls contain representations of Manutara (sea swallow), the sacred bird of Rapanui.

Transfer Mataveri airport / Hotel Hotel

DAY 2 Hourseback Poike – West Coast – Terevaka

Be intimate with nature, silence, the immensity of the sea, hills, forests and cliffs. You'll appreciate the incomparable colors of wild grasses, the soft slopes that make the Poike Volcano a peaceful yet very intense and amazing place. During the ride you will also encounter Vai a Heva. Includes transportation to and from your hotel.

DAY 3 Rano Raraku – Anakena.

The day starts early to continue discovering the secrets of the island, today you will discover the path of the mysterious Moais. The expedition begins visiting the least explored places in the island;  Vinapu, with its Ahu Tahira, whose perfection reminds the walls of Machu Picchu, then retracing the path of the Moais, heading to the east coast of the island, you will admire the process of construction and transport of these colossal sculptures. At the feet, beside the coast you will see the largest Moai in the island installed on the Ahu of Tongariki, the most striking Ahu of the island. From there the trail takes you up the slopes of Rano Raraku volcano where the quarry still contains a large number of Moais in the process of being sculpted, still buried in their bed of rock. After Rano Raraku the road continues to Anakena beach, with white sand, palm trees, but also an archeological site, with petro glyphs, Moais, caves and different types of platforms , with  the immensity of the Pacific Ocean  as backstage.  Finally enjoy bathing in the quiet turquoise water of Anakena Beach, a place where the true spirit of the island lives.

DAY 4 Trekking Ara O Te Moai

You will continue living the magic of Rapa Nui today with the discovery of the coastal road west of the island, passing through caves, admiring Ahus and petro glyphs, you will also find various hare vaka (typical boats houses), and hare paena, typical chicken houses.. The voyage will begin visiting the cave of the two Windows, Anna Kakenga, then you will head to the ancestral village houses of Ahu Te Peu, these boat houses are astonishing with their perfect blocks of stones that fit exactly together. Continuing this path in the direction of Puna Pau, we will encounter the quarry where the Red Pukaos, Moai hats were produced. The excursion ends in lava tunnels and ancient caves used by the old Rapanui to hide during wartime.

Price: All prices are listed in US dollar. Price is per person, based on double occupancy, unless otherwise specified. All tour prices are based upon the services specified in each tour’s detailed itinerary as per the “Includes” section. Services are sold as a complete package and iTravelChile will not provide a breakdown of trip component costs.

Deposits & Payments: To confirm a package booking, a USD 200 deposit per person is required. Final payment is due 30 daysprior to international departure, this payment is required in order to re-confirm all services. Payment may be made by credit card (American Express, Discover Card, Visa and MasterCard), international bank transfer or Paypal.

Cancellation charges: Cancellations received by iTravelChile 46 days or more prior to departure will be subject to a USD 95 per person/per tour cancellation fee; 45-30 days, will be subject to 30% of the program price; 29- 07 days will be 50% of the program price and 7 days or less will be subject to 100% of the program price.

Private Tour

It is basaed on private transportation and private services of a bilingual tour guide. The tour guide will guide only in one language. Each transfer or tour you receive will be in a similar basis. The main advantage of a private tour is that you utilize your vacation time more efficient, you learn more about the country and you have the undivided attention of your tour guidem, also there is more flexibility tan there is on group tours, definitely a "must" for the demanding client.

Chile "Reciprocity Fee"

Please be advised that Chile's international airport in Santiago charges a steep arrival fee to people of certain nationalities. At the time of writing, this fee was $132 USD for Canadians, $100 USD for US citizens, and $30 USD for Australian citizens; there is currently no fee for EU or New Zealand citizens however this is subject to change at any moment. This is payable immediately upon arrival before proceeding through immigration. Once this fee is paid, it is valid for the duration of the passport. Please check with your local embassy/consulate for the exact amounts.
