Puerto Natales History

Region de Magallanes,
Chilean Patagonia

The lexical origin of Puerto Natales comes from the word natalis, which means birth. It was founded in 1911 and colonized by people who came from the Island of Chiloe, as well as German and English colonists that, with their particular perseverance, transformed Patagonia in one of the most important stockbreeding producers and exporters in the world until the end of the 17th century.
