The Los Arenales ski center is in the Cordillera de Las Raíces, 8 km from Lonquimay. This is the last resort in the region, which opened its doors in 2000. There are four ski lifts and comfortable ski areas and places to enjoy cross country in the mountains. Facilities include a cafe, restaurant, equipment rental, local tour guides and snowmobile rentals.

The resort is located on the southeast side of the Lonquimay volcano, with an area of 2,540 hectares free of ravines and rock. The complex has an elevator about 550 meters long and slopes for skiers of all levels. The lodge offers food, equipment rental, tourism guides and transportation in a snowcar from the parking area to the slopes. Lonquimay Volcano Ski Center lodge is 41 km. Curacautín and offers accommodation.

The Araucarias Ski Resort

This complex is located in the Llaima volcano, in an area known as Los Paraguas. One of the main attractions is the ancient Araucaria (monkey puzzle) tree forest, known as “umbrellas” because of their open umbrella like shape. There are three ski lifts that serve slopes for skiers of all levels. The Las Araucarias ski center offers a café and accommodation. Ski instructors and equipment rentals are available throughout the season.

The winter resort El Fraile is located 29 km from Coihaique, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, in a setting that provides ideal conditions for skiing. There are two lifts that serve 5 slopes, which extend through beech and Ñirre forests to make the journey on skis both beautiful and unusual, due to the very special beauty that they give to the place. The ski area covers 550 hectares.

The resort is located 82 miles east of Los Angeles in the Laguna del Laja National Park in the foothills of the Antuco volcano. The altitude is 1,400 meters. It has ten slopes with three elevators. The services include a cafeteria, restaurant, transportation and sanitation. The complex also offers other adventure activities like hiking and a variety of recreational walks.

This complex is located within the Magallanes National Reserve, 9 kilometers from Punta Arenas. Located on the Fenton hillside, better known as Cerro Mirador, with an elevator to the top. This is the only ski resort in the world where you can see the sea. During the summer the chairlift to the viewpoint at the top is still in operation, like the cafeteria. You can walk along the park trails or bike along the defined circuits.

This resort is located 67 kilometers from Santiago and 17 kilometers southwest of San José de Maipo, a small town on the road to the location. Lagunillas is an old winter sports center that offers a variety of winter sports like skiing, snowboarding and skiing off-piste. It has a real family atmosphere with modest facilities, although there are plans for improvement. It is administered by the Club Andino, and has 200 hectare slopes.

Chapa Verde is located 60 kilometers northeast of Rancagua and 145 kilometers from Santiago. The elevators go up to over 3,000 meters, and there are 1,200 hectares of snow fields for skiing. The resort is situated on land belonging to the El Teniente division of Codelco, the largest copper company in Chile, and is administered by the Chapa Verde Ski Club.

The complex is open all year round, but the ski season is limited to the winter months. Located in the Puyehue National Park in the foothills of the Casablanca Volcano, 98 kilometers from Osorno on the international route 215. From here, the border with Argentina is only 30 km away through the Puyehue passage. There are four ski lifts and a chairlift. The 13 dry snow slopes are a pleasure for both experts and beginners.
